Tuesday saw Hakim Ziyech grow more and more frantic as his loan transfer from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain fell through at the last minute and eventually failed.
Hakim Ziyech allegedly texted Chelsea owner Todd Boehly in a fit of rage late on Tuesday night, pleading with him to approve his loan move to Paris Saint-Germain, but he was unsuccessful.
Due to Ligue 1’s refusal to approve the move due to the late submission of documentation, Ziyech’s loan agreement failed.
According to Sky Sports, “PSG filed an appeal with the Legal Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP), claiming that the Stamford Bridge club had submitted the wrong documentation at first after the details of an agreement had been finalized”.
“They assert that Chelsea delivered the appropriate documentation twice when it was detected but without a signature. The deadline had already past when the right version was obtained” they added.
The last-minute loan to PSG for the Moroccan international, who shone for his country at this winter’s World Cup, fell through. All sides were so certain that the relocation would go through that Ziyech spent the whole day finalizing the agreement in the French capital.

Due to this, Ziyech’s agreement failed, leaving the player alone in Paris and upset by the unexpected turn of events. For the remainder of the season, he will now return to Chelsea, however it is unknown what position he will fill for Graham Potter’s team.
Following Graham Potter’s team’s January business, Ziyech, who had already had his minutes at Stamford Bridge this season curtailed, fell further down the pecking order.
Graharm Potter on Ziyech-PSG deal: “I know Hakim is professional player and he understands the situation – he is back and trained with the squad”
“Ziyech will be important for the rest of the season, i am sure”, Potter added.
